Hamilton ill

From the Reds:

At approximately 5:45 this morning Reds OF Josh Hamilton was taken by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, where he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis, a general term referring to the inflammation or infection of the gastrointestinal tract.

He has returned to the team hotel, where he is resting. He is day-to-day.

He must have eaten some fish out of the Cuyahoga.

Wow, what a $h!#y month we have had as baseball fans! I don't know that I can stomach the rest of the season. There has to be some good around the corner for this franchise! Geez......

I read that the Reds finally filed a grievance against the Nationals over the Majewski deal. Any comment from Wayne?

I'd rather have Majewski, Bray, Hamilton and Gonzalez than Kearns and Lopez. Their stats are TERRIBLE for the Nationals. Not a bad trade afterall.

As for the Reds. Let Dunn walk after the season, sign someone like Vernon Wells with the money. Griffey gone after 2008 and Milton gone after this year will free up good money to spend in 2009 to supplement the young guys like Votto, Bruce, Bailey and Cueto.

Wells is going to ask for a butt load of money from contender. The Reds have and are neither. I'd say trade Dunn before you loose him to free agency. See what the Nationals got in return for Soriano? NOTHING. And they lost Brad Wilkerson to boot. Even if it's for nickel and dime pitchers. At least it would be something. About every other AL team is looking for a left handed power bat. If the Reds fall further behind from now to All Star break, take the best offer.

Any of you genius types realize that Vernon Wells signed a 7 year $126 million dollar contract with the Jays this spring

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks O'Smart One!

Let Dunn walk after the season

I would rather trade him than let him walk at the end of the season.

This Hamilton ill thing is really fishy, mostly because of the lack of information from the media and the Reds. What did he eat? Where was he when it happened at 5:45 am?

He was at hotel. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. A certain number of people are going to suspect something every time something.
