All tied up
The score is locked at 3 heading into the eighth inning, courtesy of Joey Votto. He manhandled pitcher Brian Shouse, who replaced starter Jeff Suppan at the end of the seventh. Votto belted a 380-foot hit to right field. He drove in Edwin Encarnacion in the two-run HR.

I seem to get smarter about Reds basesball every day. Last night when Bill Hall was up with 2 outs and 1st base open, I said whatever you do Bronson, pitch around him. Instead he threw a 3-2 breaking pitch in his wheelhouse for a homerun. Today I said whatever you do David Weathers, don't let Bill Hall beat you. Walking him to load the bases is better than letting him beat you. I'll pitch to Gabe Gross anyday. We're not supposed to panic, but what I see are veterans (and I guess managers who allow pitchers to pitch to Reds Hall of Famer Hall) just being plain stupid. It's time for wholesale changes. I'll take losing anyday with Belisle, Bailey, Roenicke and Bray vs. losing with these veterans who are supposed to know better.
