Reds 2, Phillies 1

After three innings, the Reds are looking good.

Aaron Harang allowed a hit in the first inning but superb defense in the outfield – two catches by Adam Dunn and another by Corey Patterson – stranded two Phillies on base.

Patterson rode the momentum at the plate, where he was walked in his first at-bat and stole second on Jeff Keppinger’s 1-1 count. He advanced to third at the same time Keppinger was put out at first base after hitting to short stop Jimmy Rollins.

Ken Griffey Jr. drove home Patterson on a sac fly RBI to left field, and the Reds led 1-0.

Scott Hatteberg drove in Dunn in the second inning for the 2-0 lead.

The Phillies got on the scoreboard in the top of the third.

Shane Victorino smashed the ball deep into left center for a triple. Chase Utley doubled, knocking in Victorino.

Uh-oh, Reds fans.....Johnny Cueto's rookie record (and ROY, Cy Young Award, and HOF induction) might be in jeopardy. Milwaukee's Manny Parra has 7 K's (and a no-hitter) after five innings.....

Oh jeez Al how bout that D behind him? 3 errors? And he ended up getting hit by Eugenio Valdez and Randy Winn. Top notch bats in that Giant lineup.
