Junior swings

A reader asked about Ken Griffey Jr. He took batting practice this morning -- six rounds, 45 swings total. No problems. "That's real good news," Jerry Narron said. The image to right is of historic McKechnie Field, one of the nicer old parks in Florida. We're 40 minutes or so from first pitch in the Pirates-Reds game. Will update once the game starts.

Are you kidding me? Honestly- who cares? Let's focus on the bigger picture.... Griffey will get hurt, AGAIN, and will play, maybe, 10 games this season. Let's focus on the rest of the team and rebuilding them rather than GRIFFEY SWINGS!! WHO CARES?? He is worthless.

12:44pm...a typical cynical Cincy idiot. I find it staggering how some people are so happy about being unhappy.

This guy's probably the same guy wearing a Junior jersey on Opening Day back when Griffey came to town, and the same guy that'll be telling his friends "I told you so" if/when Griffey plays well.

Typical.

HALL OF FAME MOMENT

Edd Roush, Baseball Hall of Famer and Reds Hall of Famer, and star player for the Reds in the 1919 Black Sox Series against Chicago, died while watching a spring training game at McKechnie Field in 1988.

In a book detailing the Reds' side of the scandal, Susan Dellinger, great granddaughter of Edd Roush, reveals that Roush passed away approximately when the ambulance crossed center field exiting the ballpark. Roush played center field during his career.
