Lohse's simulated game
Stopped at the Reds' complex in Sarasota before heading up to Tampa, and caught the tail-end of Kyle Lohse's simulated game.
Lohse suffered a mild hamstring strain Friday in Fort Myers.
He threw 61 pitches in the simulated game. Three of the hitters he faced - Adam Dunn, Ken Griffey Jr. and former first-rounder Jay Bruce. Lohse broke Griffey's bat with a change-up.
Here's what Lohse had to say about the outing:
"It went pretty good. My arm is still on track, so that’s good. We’ll resume the running and the rest of that stuff soon. We’ll be testing it out tomorrow. But the pitching part of it is good."
Did the hamstring give him any trouble at all?
"Not much. I wasn’t changing any mechanics or anything like that. It feels a little different. I’ve got it wrapped and the trainer’s have been working on it, so it feels a little different. But I felt all right?"
