Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles for the Enquirer: backup Reds writer, UC beat writer, backup Bengals writer and as a general assignment reporter. He is a Cincinnati native and a graduate of Elder High School and the University of Dayton.

Minor league report

Louisville blanked by Syracuse…Newly acquired Marcus McBeth makes his first appearance…Homer Bailey pitches tonight…Lookouts lose a slugfest…Chris Dickerson homers…Drew Anderson swinging a hot bat…The Lookies are off today (Mother Goose Day)…Sarasota proved today that they can simply roll out of bed and win…Carlos Fisher gets the victory with a solid outing…Josh Roenicke records his 9th save…Danny Dorn homers for the 2nd straight day…The Reds also won last night on “everybody gets a hit” night …Adam Rosales with a potpourri of offense…Jay Bruce with 2 hits and an RBI…Dayton finishes off a highly successful month of April…Travis Webb was nothing short of sensational in his 6.0 no-hit innings…Sean Watson pitches tonight for the fire-breathers.

Last night, the Bats radio announcers mentioned that the Bats were expecting another pitcher from Oakland (besides McBeth). Were they actually told something, or were they just guessing that the other PTBNL will be a pitcher?

And any word on when Bubba Crosby is getting off the DL?
