McBeth up; Livingston down

From the Reds:

Today the Reds optioned to Class AAA Louisville LHP Bobby Livingston and recalled from Louisville RHP Marcus McBeth.

McBeth wears uniform number 59.

It should be noted that the Reds don't need a starter for eight days because of Monday's off dsay.

Uh, the Reds need Livingston to replace Arroyo in the rotation. Arroyo can clearly miss a turn without hurting the Reds! Livingston's reward for his gem should have been a spot in the rotation. What do the Reds want? Why are they so unwilling to give young players a chance when some of the older ones are not getting the job done at all? My embargo continues. I am confident that by the time Bailey makes his debut the Reds will be 16 games or more under .500 and that Arroyo will lose his next start (badly again). Whomever sent Livingston down is the wrong guy to help take the Reds to the playoffs, or even back over .500. Fire him! This team cannot afford to give away any advantage they find and by sending Livingston down they're putting way too much faith in Arroyo (who right now is nothing more than a strumming version of Milton/Stanton/Salmon).
