Belisle out; Bray in

The Reds optioned Matt Belilse Triple-A Louisville and brought up left-hander Bill Bray. Every member of the bullpen pitched in Saturday's 12-7 loss to San Diego. The Reds don't need a starter until Aug. 18. Pete Mackanin told reporters that Homer Bailey would not be a candidate to make the start of the 18th.

John, who would be in line to start for Louisville on the 18th? Could Cueto get a shot or does that fall near EZ's spot? Tossing Cueto in there would be a rather bold move by WK and the boys.

Where is Homer Bailey? Does anyone know? He's not with any Reds affiliate.

I think EZ would be considered. But he got rocked in the his last outing. I wonder about his shoulder. Homer's rehabbing in Cincinnati from the groin pull. I'd guess he'll be back with the Reds in Sept.

Homer is in Louisville on the DL with a groin injury.

Thanks John, I looked up the Bats rotation schedule, yes an exciting afternoon here in Chattanooga. Ramirez's spot would appear to land on the 18th, while Cueto is the 17th and Saarloos the 16th.

John, why do the Reds resolutely insist on being a horrid organization with no future? They are playing Keppinger again at third. Keppinger's got a fine career as a utility man ahead of him, but he has no upside. Edwin Encarnacion is immensely talented, and they are wasting him. Even IF he makes a few errors while he's getting his rough edges worn off, and that results in the Reds winning (gasp!) 71 games instead of 73, WHO CARES???

Norris Hopper, Jeff Keppinger, Juan Castro, all fine bit players for a team rounding out its 25-man roster after having put the big pieces in place. EE is ONE of those big pieces. Why don't the Reds get it?

Biting my nails wondering if the Reds will eek their way into 4th place this year instead of finishing a disappointing 5th... NOT! On the edge of my seat wondering if the Reds will ever discover that they need a plan... YES.

And have they decided now that some other team should be burdened with future All Star Joey Votto, and that Hatteberg is the future at 1B?

Clearly they cannot be this dumb, can they? You talk to these front office people, don't you? Do you ever note any light emanating from their eyes, or is it all just a dull blank stare?

"Reds don't need a starter until Aug. 18"

What are they planning on doing until then?
