Bellhorn out; Gonzalez in

Transaction: Today the Reds reinstated from the bereavement list SS Alex Gonzalez and outrighted to Louisville IF Mark Bellhorn. Gonzalez had been on the bereavement list since last Wednesday. This season Gonzalez has been on the bereavement list 3 times and the restricted list once.

Jeff Keppinger is starting at shortstop tonight. Pete Mackanin said it would be a day or two before Gonzalez starts.

There's NO REASON Gonzalez needs to ever start for this team again while KEPPINGER, PHILLIPS, and ENCARNACION are healthy.

Wow! Adam "Ted Williams" Dunn just made an unbelievable break on the ball and catch...

NICE JOB ADAM! WOW!

Ah Justin Fernandez. NO REASON? Try he's twice as good defensively as Keppinger and Encarnacion.

I'm not saying I want Keppinger on the bench. And at this point they should keep running Encarnacion out there to see what he can do. But still NO REASON? Just shows how clueless you are.

Justin Fernandez:
Gonzalez is so superior defensively it isn't an issue. Keppinger will play but multiple positions. Now It's pretty obvious you know nothing about baseball so that must make you a moron. Read a few books on the game before you continue to make yourself the laughing stock of Cincinnati.

I agree with Justin, defensively this is a down year for Gonzalez and Gonzalez's hitting has been declining since the beginning of the year. At this stage, there is no reason that Gonzalez should be starting over Keppinger.

Then again, there is no reason why Votto is still in the minors.

The season has reached the point where we need to find out if these kids can play. I admire management for being competitive, but you think these kids are going to be any less? They want to win just as much as anyone else.
