All tied up

This one is a thriller. Corey Patterson hit a 411-foot home run in the eighth to deadlock the score at three.

I told you patterson is going to LOVE the GABP.

How about Bakko stepping up. Baker said he needed to hit more and he gets 3 hits and the game winning RBI.

Wins like this pay off at the end of the year

Dusty's insistence that Corey Patterson play CF is looking pretty smart.

Jay Bruce looks to be in the wings for right field in '09 following Junior's departure.

That daggone Patterson is a walking out!! His obp is the worst!! Where did we get this guy from? He's the most miserable player to ever step foot in GABP!!

And Dusty sucks for bringing him in here! Hey, weren't they both supposed to be run out of town before the season ever started?!

Just got home, what a great game. My son threw out the 1st pitch today in honor of Autism Awarness Month. I want to thank the Reds for a once in a lifetime thrill today. If this team ever starts hitting they will be real dangerous.

Well I think we can officially say this is a good start, 3 out of 5 from playoff teams.

KEEP IT UP REDS!

Before the season started I looked at this schedule and hoped to just win one game in each series. ( ARI, PHI, CHC, MIL )Right now I feel pretty good about the Reds winning one more Phillly game, and I think the Cubbies are ripe for taking 2 of 3. The real test will be the Brewers, the Reds get em 3 at home and 3 in MIL in a two week span. It would be great to split those 6 or even maybe win 4.
If they can do that, hello first place.

But,... thats alot of ball games, and alot can happen, so one game at a time; to use a baseball cliche.

Anyway, thats how Im thinking, hope the Reds are too.

dmiller900: Congrats to your son and his parents! That is one for the scrap book and memoirs!

da phoenixx: what have you been smoking? I called Patterson a punch and judy hitter without the punch the other day, and I amdit I was wrong and enjoy eating those words. He won't lead the team in HRs, but he is at this time! He has also made a few very nice catches, had a nice sac fly the other night and ohh by the way, he stole a base today that was not even close! Give me a break on him being the worst player to ever lace em up in GABP! What the hell are you smoking!

Best win of the very new year against a better hitting team than the D-backs. Whoever. Baker or Krivsky, made the decision to pick up Patterson and Bako seems to know a bit more about winning baseball than some of us! Great win today! Best of the year so far.

Patterson had a good game, and so did Bako. They're both guys who in the long run, won't be very good for this lineup. Patterson's OBP through 4 games is still .235 which doesn't belong at the top of the order, in fact it's making it harder to score runs, making game tying home runs in late innings necessary.

Patterson's stats through four games don't mean anything. He also leads the team in home runs and stolen bases, and certainly no one is reading anything into that.

Encarnacion is hitting .154 and still leds the team in OBP (.450) because he has so many walks. Stats are meaningless this early in the season.
