Lineups: Reds v. Brewers

Greetings from Miller Park. I hate the concept of roofed ballparks. But on a day like today -- rainy, cold, miserable -- they're a great thing.

Corey Patterson CF
Jeff Keppinger SS
Ken Griffey Jr. RF
Brandon Phillips 2B
Adam Dunn LF
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
Joey Votto 1B
Paul Bako C
Johnny Cueto P

Rickie Weeks 2B
Gabe Gross CF
Prince Fielder 1B
Ryan Braun LF
Bill Hall 3B
Corey Hart RF
J.J. Hardy SS
Jeff Suppan P
Jason Kendall C

I know Suppan hit a towering home run off Kevin Kelly when they were about 13. Maybe that's why he's hitting eighth. Actually, Ned Yost only does it when Kendall's playing.

I'd really like to see Votto getting more starts. That being said...I know he has been slumping since the start of spring training, he is also slumping on Baseball Mogul 2009...coincidence?! :)

John what are your thoughts on the Votto/Hatteberg every other day platoon that has them off to a 2 for 12 and 1 for 13 start respectively?

Also when Gonzo comes back what do you think will happen with Keppinger and others (EE) that might be affected by that?

John, as our eyes and ears to the Reds, do you know:
1)Why isn't David Ross catching in Sarasota?
2)Have the Reds received the PTBNL from K.C. for Brad Salmon?
3) What is wrong with Ryan Hanigan?
4) Why is the low A outfielder, currently on the DL, we got for Jon Contlangus equal value?
5) What happened to Milton Loo? We drafted him twice,(#10 in '05) payed big bucks to sign him.

Wait - where's Castro in the 2 hole? You mean that wasn't a good idea yesterday? Really?

Maybe Baker should do it when Castro is playing.

I think Keppinger has earned an every day job. He may do it at different positions such as 3B, SS, or first base, but I think he has to be in the lineup pretty much every night.

They could plug Keppinger in at first against lefties quite a bit once Gonzalez comes back. It'd cut down on Votto or Hatteberg's playing time, but it'd probably make for a better team that night!

Keppinger earned a starting job the second half of last year

Its not wise to rotate a player from position to position jerbear

1)Why isn't David Ross catching in Sarasota? He tweaked a hamstring. He'll paly Thursday.

2)Have the Reds received the PTBNL from K.C. for Brad Salmon? No.

3) What is wrong with Ryan Hanigan?
Oblique strain.
4) Why is the low A outfield der, currently on the DL, we got for Jon Contlangus equal value? Because that's all they were willing to give.

5) What happened to Milton Loo? We drafted him twice,(#10 in '05) payed big bucks to sign him. He quit baseball. He's on the restricted list, I believe.
