Reds 14, Twins 1
It's over Reds win 14-1. Twenty-five hits. Three hours and change. The Reds are 3-0.
Josh Hamilton train rolls on -- 3-for-4 with a walk. "He's fun to watch," Reds manager Jerry Narron said. "I like the ball he hit to left. That's what we're looking for. He can run. He plays a good outfield, too."
Don't see how he doesn't make it. But April 2 is long way off.
Bobby Livingston impressed Narron with two perfect innings.
In the other news of the day: Gary Majewski is still a week to 10 days from throwing off the mound. Majewski is accepting the fact that he may start in the year in Triple-A. "If I need to go there to rehab, so be it," he said.
This from Rob Butcher on the hit parade:
"In today’s victory vs Min the Reds produced 25 hits, the most in a spring training game since the Marlins had 26 hits in a 22-12 win at Wsh on 3/7/06...the Reds had at least 20 hits in a spring training game for the first time since they produced an even 20 knocks in a 14-8 loss vs the Cardinals on 3/9/94 at Plant City...statistical research isn't available prior to the 1994 season...Cin is the second team this spring to pound out at least 20 hits in a game...the Brewers produced 24 hits in their 21-2 victory over the Padres yesterday in Phoenix."
This from Butcher on 3-0 start:
"At 3-0 the Reds are off to their best spring start since they moved to Sarasota in 1998 (poor stats-keeping prevents me from finding our last 3-0 start)...since a 9-4 loss to the Indians in Winter Haven on 3/26 of last spring, the Redlegs have won their last 9 exhibition contests."
I'm out. I'll chronicle Homer Bailey's debut tomorrow.

good stuff on majewski. sometimes i wonder if we'll ever really see what kind of stuff he's got. I can't believe that he hurt himself in his first tosses in the offseason, after months of rest, and something isn't seriously wrong. is this developing into a tear and some hardcore surgery?
Any trade rumors yet? Any chance of trading Milton?
