Reds are 2-0. I'm going to beat the fireworks crowd. Here's my game report: Reds 5, Twins 2
The arms: Kyle Lohse was limited to two-thirds of an inning by a slightly strained right hamstring. Brian Meadows pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Mike Stanton and Bill Bray each pitched a scoreless inning. Matt Belisle gave up a run in two innings of work. Elizardo Ramirez pitched two scoreless innings. Jason Kershner pitched the ninth for the save.
The bats: Edwin Encarnacion hit his first home run of the spring. Bubba Crosby’s bloop single got in two runs in the seventh and turned out to be the game winner. Joey Votto was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.
The rest: Anderson Machado committed an error for the second straight game. The game was a sellout (7,726).
Up next: The home opener is today against the Minnesota Twins at 1:05 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium. Aaron Harang faces Boof Bonser. The game is on WLW (700-AM).
