An idea (honor Howsam) and an update

I got a good suggestion from a reader named Greg. He thinks the Reds ought to retire Bob Howsam's red sport coat. Sounds a pretty good idea to me. Most of the major players from Big Red Machine have been honored, as has Sparky Anderson. The guy who put all together should be honored as well. They could put the sport coat next to the microphones honoring the broadcasters.

Mark from Springfield asked about Carson Kainer, the Texas outfielder the Reds took in the 14th round last year. You may recall him. He's the kid who had a kidney transplant. He's playing in extended spring. He's hitting over .300 and driving in about a run a game. He'll probably end up at Billings.

You could hang a big pair of leather pants out there next to the giant novely sportscoat. :)

For those of you interested in how Bowden (leather pants) is doing in Washington, check out foxsports.com Ken Rosenthal has a long piece on the state of Nats, which is not good according to people who have left the organization.

I read that article yesterday. Hilarious.

I guess the K-Dog and the Reds aren't going to file a grievance against leather pants after all.
