John Fay has been the Reds beat writer for the Enquirer since 2001. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles for the Enquirer: backup Reds writer, UC beat writer, backup Bengals writer and as a general assignment reporter. He is a Cincinnati native and a graduate of Elder High School and the University of Dayton.

Louisville loses an extra-inning heartbreaker…Bobby Livingston with another solid effort (longest outing of the season for a Louisville pitcher)…Aaron Herr homers…Chattanooga drops one to Huntsville…James Avery with a good outing…Jared Burton roughed up…Drew Anderson extends his hitting streak…Jay Garthwaite heating up…Sarasota wins their 4th in a row…Johnny Cueto dominates…Mike DeJesus homers…Adam Rosales and Jay Bruce extend their hitting streaks…Dayton wins again (6 straight)…Daryl Thompson pitches well…Misael DeJesus keeps ‘em off balance in relief…Jose Rojas notches his 6th save…Midwest League leading hitter, Chris Valaika collects 2 more hits (34 for the season)…Juan Francisco (2 hits) drives in another run…The Dragons are batting .306 with runners in scoring position/2 outs…Dayton leads the league in both batting and pitching.

last nights loss was a killer. no big deal about stanton owning up to it.... it was on television. everyone saw it. bullpen will be fixed hopefully when bray comes back... though i think we might have been premature in handing out an extension to coffey. lots of guys with another year on the books. time for majewski. unless oakland throws in burton as player to be named later in denorfia trade... probably going to have tyo eat the 25 grand. drop in the bucket compared to cormier and perhaps milton. dont think oakland will do that because the trade seems so one sided that i cant believe the other show hasn't dropped. "excuse me wayne...i gave you something for nothing...please send back that picture of me and the goat like you promised."reds are 0 and 6 in miltons starts. 0 and 6. no other stats really matter.
one more thing....freel has more than 100 at bats and one rbi.
