Since they can't guarantee a 19-11 month, the Reds are coming up with other ways to fill the seats. This from the club:
MAY TICKET OPTIONS:
BobbleMAYnia, Student Tickets
CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Reds are giving fans two new options to purchase tickets during May for games at Great American Ball Park.
BobbleMAYnia: The Reds are offering a new fun, flexible package that guarantees tickets to the May 23 Bronson Arroyo bobblehead game, the June 13 Aaron Harang bobblehead game and two other games in May of the fans’ choice. The affordable 4-game package is offered for the cost of only 3 games and is available at reds.com, by phone locally at 381-REDS or toll free at 877-647-REDS.
Student Tickets: Spring has arrived, school is almost out, and the Reds invite students to celebrate in May by showing their school pride and purchasing half-price tickets in May, presented by Pepsi.
Students who present student identification, school t-shirts, caps, jerseys - anything that shows they are students - will receive half-price tickets in all seating categories other than Premium Seating locations.
The half-price student tickets are available only at Great American Ball Park ticket windows in advance and on gameday. Seating is subject to availability and excludes the May 23 Bronson Arroyo bobblehead game.

I mentioned something about ticket prices being too high on your blog a little while ago, John and kinda got poo-pooed, but since then the Reds have announced several 'ticket deals' to help boost sales. As Artie Johnson (no relation) used to say, "Very intersting."
If the normal prices are so good and affordable, then why all the gimmicks? Why 'student tickets' and 'bobbleMAYnia' and '4 for 48'??
Again I say get the prices in line for EVERY game. The non-premium seats aren't too bad. Maybe tweak them by a few bucks, but starting with the Field Box seats then going up, those could be more affordable and thus sell more seats. As far as businesses go, I've always been a "get 'em in the door" kinda guy. Make it affordable to get in, then sell 'em more stuff when they get there.
Here's what I'm thinking....
Field Box..........26
Infield Box........33
Club Seating.......42
Dugout Box.........55
Club Home..........55
Lower Club.........60
Scout..............65
Diamond............200
Now, personally speaking, I'd feel much better paying 33 bucks for a box seat rather than 40. If I go with someone else (my wife), then I'm 14 bucks to the good, which I'll have in my pocket during the game. Money that I can spend on a few beers, or a few dogs, or whatever. Point being that the Reds are highly likely to STILL get that 14 dollars.....plus some. Now, if 40 dollars for that same seat seems a little cost prohibitive (for me, it does), then I'm not going to buy a cheaper seat. I'm just not gonna go. Then the Reds not only lose that 14 bucks, but they lose the 33 I would have paid for the seat. Net loss for the Reds.....80 bucks for 2 people, 1 game. With a little extrapolation, that piles up some don't it?
Think what you want, but I don't think I'm far off from most fans either.
