Bruce to Louisville

Jay Bruce, the Reds No. 1 position player prospect, is going to Triple-A Louisville -- temporarily. He's with the Bats while Dewayne Wise is on the DL.

Even the short stint shows that the Reds have a lot of confidence in Bruce. Not many guys can hold their own in Triple A at 20.

What if he's hitting .400 when Wise gets healthy?

"That's something we'll have to decide at the time," player development director Terry Reynolds said.

My guess is if Bruce does well in Louisville, we'll see him in the Cincinnati in September.

I think they should leave him in Louisville for the rest of this year and call him up to start next year

With a talent like Bruce in the minors, the Reds MUST move Dunn or Griffey (preferably Dunn).

The Reds have a great young team for the future:

Bruce and Hamilton in the outfield for years to come; Endwin, Phillips and Votto in the infield for years to come; and Bailey, Harang, and Arroyo in the rotation for at least 4 more years.

That is a good base... now let's just get some bullpen help for Dunn and Hatteberg and we are set!

Anon 2:23 is right on track. The young nucleus is strong and should be here by August 1. Imagine an outfield for 2 years of Bruce, Hamilton, and Griffey (as the mentor). Dunn and Hatteberg should bring good arms and puts the Reds on the right track in 08 and 09.

Couldn't agree more with Anon 2:23 and Anon 2:56 (hey folks--give us a name to work with!).

The future is bright if we make the right trades (preferably Dunn for pitching).

I like your ideas on what players to field on "08" BUT, the salaries of GRIFF, Arroyo n harang will eat up 40 mil of payroll, so subtract 1 of those players. I say trade griff and move stubbs arrival up. I say trade griff for 2 prospects in top 100. Now that we have gutted this team HA HA HA, Is winning 3 of 8 games make u a team? HA HA HA. can Votto hit a lefty? Is Bailey for real? Is Arroyo a #2 starter or #5? Will edwin be a .270/15/80 or .290/30/100? Any given yr u can go from first to last but it will be yrs b4 cincy goes from last to first with A-Rods makin 30 mil. I dont go to games because of the salaries, no one watches me at work but u all need my services and i dont need the reds!!!
