Reds GM Wayne Krivsky about Homer Bailey

"It wouldn't be going on if there weren't three days off. When you're on option, you've got to go 10 (days) unless somebody gets hurt. We'll figure it out. He's pitching Thursday in Louisville.... He's good about it. He understands and this gives us another position player for the next five or six games, whatever it is."

"It keeps him on his regular schedule. He's working on some things with Dick (Pole, Reds pitching coach). It was something that was discussed even before the game (Saturday)as a possibility. We wanted to see how the game played out. After the game we met again and decided it was the best thing for the team."

Was Homer Bailey optioned to Louisville because the Reds did not want him pitching against the NL East 1st place Mets or NL East 2nd place Braves? Can we expect to see Homer back in the Reds' rotations versus the NL East 4th place Marlins?
