Reds Insider From news of the day to news of the weird, John Fay provides a glimpse of what it’s like to cover the Cincinnati Reds
John Fay has been the Reds beat writer for the Enquirer since 2001. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles for the Enquirer: backup Reds writer, UC beat writer, backup Bengals writer and as a general assignment reporter. He is a Cincinnati native and a graduate of Elder High School and the University of Dayton.
Just spoke to John Allen. Twenty-six of 27 precincts are in. The referendum is down by 118 votes. There are also some absentee ballots to be counted. But it doesn't look very good at this point.
This is good. If all they were going to do is renovate that stadium they don't deserve the Reds. I was down there last year, and that facility is terrible. It has a good baseball feel, but it's just too old. I wouldn't mind a move to Vero Beach.
John, Just checked the Sarasota herald-Tribune website and if I'm reading it correct it looks like the referendum is ahead by about 118. Yes-4162 No-4044
