Intrasquad lineups

Here's the intrasquad lineups (hopefully they'll play but it looks like it could rain):

Norris Hopper CF
Jeff Keppinger SS
Jay Bruce RF
Joey Votto 1B
Jerry Gil LF
Javier Valentin C
Jolbert Cabrera 3B
Andy Green 2B
Andy Phillips DH
Pitchers: Aaron Harang, Matt Maloney, Richie Gardner, Josh Roenicke, Tyler Pelland.

Ryan Freel CF
Juan Castro SS
Scott Hatteberg 1B
Brandon Phillips 2B
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
David Ross C
Chris Dickerson RF
Drew Anderson LF
Ryan Hanigan DH
Pitchers: Bronson Arroyo, Johnny Cueto, Alexander Smit, Daryl Thompson, Sergio Valenzuela, Ramon Ramirez.

They're shutting SS Alex Gonzalez down for a couple of days because of the sore knee. He has a bone bruise. He'll see Dr. Tim Kremchek Friday. "Better that it happens now," Dusty Baker said.

Ken Griffey Jr. and Adam Dunn won't play today or tomorrow in Clearwater. Baker plans to play them two days, then give them a day off.

good morning Mr Fay..we are gonna get some more snow this afternoon.I am sure you don't miss that

I don't want anyone to get hurt but maybe they will take a good look at Keppinger

Bruce is in right. I fixed the post. He's more comfortable in center. "Playing right should be interesting."

Here's to hoping Gonzo is okay. I am looking forward more to what the pitchers do than what the hitters do.

John is it a set lineup through the game or will others come in the game(hitters wise) to replace the starters?

I know that I, for one, am terribly excited as the games begin. I was moved by the play of Votto, Keppinger, and Hopper last year ..I look forward to seeing them play..they were exciting

I have a new favorite player..that being Josh Fogg cause I like the name

John,
what about homer bailey? why isn't he pitching?

My guess is that some guys won't be pitching today so that they will be ready for spring games to come this week.

Intersquad games begin.. everybody throws a half inning... it's forecasted to snow this afternoon... less than an inch will accumulate.. meanwhile, I am SO grateful we have Southwest tix to Tampa for Friday early, so we can be at Ed Smith for the 1:05pm start... John,
What time does the intrasquad game start today? Please give updates if possible.

Sorry for the delay on your question: Homer is starting Friday's game vs. the Rays.

Affeldt starts tomorrow. Brower, Burton, Coffey, Coutlangus, Majewski, McBeth, Pettyjohn, Salmon and Shearn are on the trip.

I will update as the intrasquad game goes along -- provided the wireless is working in the press box.

John;
Any word on an internet broadcast of spring games that aren't on WLW? Tell the Reds/WLW that they are missing a decent advertising opportunity if they aren't going to do this. I think a lot of us would be excited to see how some of these youngsters do -- even in the spring.

Does anyone on this blog agree?

By the way...if they are worried about cost, tell them I'd do it if they pay my expenses.

The game starts at 12:30. My forecast was completely wrong. Blue skies and a slight breeze.

I'm surprised they don't put them on internet at least. They did last year, but I haven't heard of plans to do so this year.

Shouldn't Juan Castro and Johnny Cueto be on the J squad?

Hey John Fay...Can you or anybody that posts on here tell us when WLW or The Homer station is gonna start broadcasting preseason games on the radio?

Bill from Dayton
