Mr. Redlegs loses his head

Did you see this? It happened before Wednesday game. Mr. Redlegs was standing on the back of a motorized cart driven by Gapper, the other Reds mascot, when Mr. Redlegs fell off the cart. ESPN's "SportsCenter" included it in its Top 10 highlights. Here it is on YouTube.

NOTE: The video was removed from YouTube this afternoon due to a copyright claim by MLB Advanced Media.

unacceptable. Time to send mister Redlegs down and bring up Bruce. What is Baker thinking, letting this happen to lead off the game.

I haven't seen anyone lose their head like that at a Reds game since Pete Rose bumped the ump.

What a tragedy? Gapper should be arrested. Jealousy is a bad thing.

I bet that Mr. Red messed with the brakes on 4-wheeler because he is mad that he looks like a creepy alien and Mr. Redlegs is getting all of the attention now.

I figured I'd see how not having Hamilton and Cantu we would of avoided this and been on our way to the world series. Bt I'm sure we will.

Mr. Redleg plays better leadoff, then patterson ever has.

Almost forgot, CSA and JBA Get Excited....Cantu Comes to Cincy Next week...Hope you buy some real tix this week JBA so you can see Cantu up closee, no need for the cheap seats...spend some $$$ so we can get some big name guys in here!!!

I must say Cueto had more than a "decent" first outing. Further, he is a legitimate Big Leaguer. Maybe not a "good" bigleaguer at his age, but nevertheless a legitimate one. Hey Reds why the sorrow? We beat the cubs yesterday, and the mets tommorrow!

Hundreds of small children scream and jump into their parents arms as Mr. Redleg's head rolled down the warning track...

Anyone else hear the faint sound of a gunshot from the grassy knoll behind the centerfield wall???

There has been a recent epidemic of mascot decapitations in Cincinnati... Twister lost his head at a Cyclones game last week. We must stop the brutality!

Well, the Reds did win, so do it again if it works.

How boring! Why are we not posting stuff about the ballclub so we can talk about Jorge Cantu, Josh Hamilton, and how this whole team should be traded including Billy Hatcher and Mark Berry?!

HOW DARE YOU!!

Julie and I have tickets..her parents are giving us their good seats behind the Reds dugout

Cueto had a very good 1st outing..my bad,,.. yet,one outing still does not make him or anyone else a legitimate major leaguer..only time will tell

I hate Mr. Redleg. Bring back Mr. Red! Not that alien Mr. Red but the original Mr. Red. The running Mr. Red. Number 27. Mr. Redleg is lame!

Don't even get me started on Rosie Red.

Jack, where did you read about pitcher's arm speed? Yesterday that was your comment about Volquez, and it was actually right. Guess what? Cueto has the same qualification. The difference is location. Whereas Volquez will miss a spot, walk the batter, and nibble a bit more than maybe he should, Cueto goes the other route and grooves a few - look at the walk/k ratios. Voltran issues a few more walks than you'd like, whereas Cueto serves a few up - Volquez learned that from his rough couple of years in and out of the Texas rotation - Cueto will leave broadway alone in a year or two and be just as good.

This is clearly the work of Juan Castro.

at 1:07 PM Blogger Unknown said...

How could we have let go of Jorge Cantu! We need his .278 avg and .328 OBP on this team! Not to mention his warning track power!

OPS vs. LHP

Votto 1.278!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cantu .730

Be thankful he's not playing instead of Votto.

Cantu topic closed for good.

April 3rd - 7.0 IP, 1 ER
April 8th - 6.1 IP, 2 ER
April 19th - 7.0 IP, 2 ER
May 5th - 6.0 IP, 3 ER

Those are all good outings. That gives him a 60% quality start ratio...not too shabby! 41 K in 41 IP is not too bad either!

He's a good pitcher...he's had 1 really bad outing this year so far that's effected his ERA ultimately.

I don't think we have too much to worry about.

Somebody mention my name? I couldn't care less if Jorge Cantu comes to town. I just think it was a very stupid decision of The Amazing Krivsky to let him go the way he did getting absolutely nothing in return when this team needs RH hitting.
The Amazing krivsky has been dealt with appropriately.
Thank you very much,

cuetos record is 2-3 with an ERA over 5.25.. he has an extremely high pitch count ( just like Bailey) hes ok..

It looks like he will be good..but who knows

It was only a matter of time before the man who plays Mr. Redlegs would make a mistake and Walt Jocketty would take over duty as Mr. Redlegs.

DUMB QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"A big contract? League average salary is $3.5 million per year. Isn't Arroyo making like $5? Again...not making any sense."

The Reds owe Arroyo $9mil for 2009 and $11.5 mil for 2010. I call that a big contract for a very bad pitcher.

Did you not read what I just wrote? One outing ballooned his ERA for the time being.

100 pitches in an average of 7.0 IP in his quality starts is not a "high pitch count."

Volquez throws more pitches than Cueto and is 5-1. So what's your point?

Rob, stop looking up facts and being logical. We much prefer random postings based on inner feelings and emotions.

LOL! True 'dat!

Where exactly were you going to play Cantu? Judging from your post, you'd be placing him in the place of a left handed hitter. Would it be in RF or LF for Dunn or Griffey, or would you be replacing the guy at first base hitting .407 against left handed pitching with an OPS .500 higher than Cantu against LHP?

See, you really have no argument here other than right handed guy off of the bench which would have already been Freel, Hopper and Keppinger had Gonzalez not gotten hurt. All are better options to pinch hit than Cantu.

Next time, think it through.

My next scheduled game is the Indians game for Brandon Phillips bobblehead night.

I'm usually up for a game on the weekend. I work 60 hours a week and go to school full-time. It's hard for me to catch a game during the week, as you can imagine. Although, it has been known to happen! :)

BTW Dr Dickens, when is Hamilton going down with the injury that you assured us would sideline him because he used drugs a few years ago?

good thing we got Gonzalez, huh. Keppinger can't play shortstop can he?

Cueto, I believe will be a very good pitcher. So far he has been very mediocre at best.

The small market crap is a bunch of BS presented to ignorant fans as an excuse for previous ownership not to spend money.

Trying to make it look like Jack from Blue Ash and SAINT CSA are the same person just shows your immaturity. Grow up!

CSA- you're calling people immature when you call yourself a saint. Also, nice slip-up Jack/CSA. I usually just read this blog and don't post, but I think I speak for most if not all of the readers of the blog when I say I'm tired of your senseless jabbering.

Mr. Red losing his head? Please get George Mitchell on the phone. Instead of helping the slumping economy, resolve the gas crisis, Congress needs to spend countless hours and millions of dollars to investigate this. Simply unacceptable!

I blame Roger Clemens.

Wow...MLB.com, USA Today, and consumer generated media must be wrong then. I feel sorry for all of the professional analysts and all of their information they are providing us with being inaccurate and stupid because CSA (I mean JBA) said so. SHAME ON THEM!!

It's too bad you have a lack of baseball knowledge to the point that you have to continue to call people "stupid" or "immature" because of it.

*cough*JBA*cough*

Not to mention, I wish for once you kept on topic about something. What does Josh Hamilton and Jeff Keppinger have to do with Mr. Redlegs falling off a quad? LOL!!

I don't take back anything I've said in the past about the Reds. Because unlike you *cough*JBA*cough* I have statistics and factual information to back up my claims.

Lighten up buddy!

More on topic though, I think that before we would get rid of Mr. Redlegs (who I've always liked better than Mr. Red) I think we should get rid of Gapper. He's really just a ridiculous mascot.

There is a villain at work here. Ever since his creation, Gapper has been the beginning of the end. He's some sort of alien-muppet reject with undertones of the Philly Phanatic.

It's obvious that Gapper was attempting to assassinate Mr. Redlegs. How could he do it? Mr. Redlegs is an old man, to be revered and respected. Not abused and maimed.

While Mr. Redlegs should get with this century, and get rid of that goofy handlebar mustache, Gapper should just be beaten. Tell Joey Votto his knee caps are low fastballs, he'll hit 'em every time.

And if Gapper doesn't get removed forever for abusing the elderly, at least tell him to tuck in his shirt. And turn that hat around, you're not "The Kid".

at 5:48 PM Blogger reaganspad said...

got to admit CSA, you are using all Jacks words. Then you claimed he posted under your name.....

the give away is the AGon, Keppinger Debate. CSA was never part of that.

And regardless of Keppinger's steady play, Gonzales is still a better shortstop

All mascots should be gotten rid of, they are annoying and stupid, this fall I saw on sports center, hilarious!

nice work JBA/CSA you finally slipped an mixed the two, I'm not sure what makes you think you can trick us. I noticed it was the same dude a long time ago, they mostly post when the other is posting too and always had the same opinion. The best is when he used one to agree with himself on another post, classic. Since someone agreeing with you is somehow going to make people believe you, problem is you aren't going to convince anyone anything unless your arguments are solid, saying the same sentence over and over doesnt make it true.

please just post under one name, this will all go away and we can move on in our lives.
