Hamilton's debut

Josh Hamilton pinch-hit to lead off the eighth. Left fielder Matt Murton made a nice catch of the sinking line drive to rob him of a base hit.

Fans love Hamilton. The ovation when he was announced was loud and long. And he got a nice cheer after the out. He stayed in the game and played left field.

"That was awesome," Adam Dunn said. "I've never seen anyone so excited. He deserves every single bit of it, if not more. It's good to see. He's such a good guy."

So awesome. I got a little teary eyed. I think there are some things that are o.k. for a man to get a little emotional about and his story is definitely one.

I was there for this moment and it was actually very moving. That kid's been through so much...

For anyone that thinks the Bengals have taken over this town's hear...well...you shoulda been there yesterday. This, first and foremost, is a baseball town. And it always will be. Every one of the 40,000 in that ballpark yesterday knew about Josh Hamilton and his story. I think that says it all...

I hope God looks over Josh Hamilton and keeps him well. Forget about baseball, he deserves to live a clean, sober, and happy life.
