Harang's Day; Reds lead 5-1.

Aaron Harang's day: 7 innings pitched, six hits, one run, no earned runs, two walks, five strikeouts. He left with the Reds up 5-1.

Kirk Saarloos took over.

Compare and contrast, Harang with last year's Opening Day start: 5 IP, nine hits, nine runs, six earned, three walk, three strikeouts. The seven innings were the most by a Reds starter since Jose Rijo went eight in a 2-1 win over Montreal in 1993.

Guess that Harang's ERA in the spring wasn't a big deal.

He's in line to become the first Reds starter to win on Opening Day since John Smiley in 1997.
