Dunn 3, Cubs 0 (in progress)
Adam Dunn has two home runs in two at-bats. Reds lead the Cubs 3-0.
Dunn's second one -- a solo shot in the third -- went off the batter's eye in right-center. Center fielder Alfonzo Soriano barely moved. It was out that fast. It was the 200th of Dunn's career.
In the first, Ryan Freel walked. Dunn crushed a pitch about a third of the way up the seats in right to make it 2-0.
Dunn has five homers on Opening Day -- most of any Red. Dunn hit two home runs and had five RBI in the 2005 opener against the Mets. The only other Red to hit two homers on Opening Day was Frank McCormick in 1941.
Aaron Harang had a slightly better first inning than last year. Soriano 1-3. Matt Murton strikeout. Derrek Lee walk, then caught stealing on the first pitch. Harang gave up five in the first last year.
He's been good through three. Two hits, a walk, three strikeouts, only 31 pitches.
Hard not to get chills when anthem ends with the fly-over. Just an absolutely beautiful day -- 72 degrees at first pitch.
Josh Hamilton probably got the loudest ovation during introductions. Bronson Arroyo was up there, too.
Freel’s was probably the loudest among the regulars. Ken Griffey Jr. and Dunn heard it loudly and clearly as well.
Lou Piniella didn't make an Opening Day concession as far as dress. He's wearing his warm-up top.
Mark Mallory's first pitch was just awful -- 16 feet outside. Eric Davis didn't even move to try to catch it. It nearly hit an umpire.
Mr. Redlegs looks like Mr. Red after an extreme makeover.

16 feet outside? He WISHES he threw like a little girl...no wonder Mark Mallory needs a body guard. Poor guy.
