Milton's line

5-2/3 innings
10 hits (six singles, three doubles and a two-run homer by Jack Wilson in the sixth)
4 earned runs
6 strikeouts
1 walk
68 of 94 pitches for strikes

Milton left the game trailing 4-0. Victor Santos took over and stranded a runner at second to end the sixth and pitched a perfect seventh.

Pirates' lead now down to one run, 4-3 entering the eighth, after a two-out, pinch-hit double to left by Juan Castro off Pittsburgh reliever Juan Perez in the seventh. A two-run single off the left field wall by Ken Griffey Jr. made it 4-2 with nobody out in the seventh inning.

Griffey's hit off Pirates starter Zach Duke scored Adam Dunn, who reached on a single to start the inning, and Edwin Encarnacion, who followed Dunn and ripped a double to right centerfield that one-hopped the wall.

Duke's line:
6-plus innings
6 hits
3 earned runs
0 walks
5 strikeouts
54 of 88 pitches for strikes

Today's attendance: 14,001
Today's gametime temp: 37 degrees

Can we now say that Milton's first game is a flop? Don't want to hear about first few innings. The boy is paid more money than I'll ever see to LOSE. I'm really sick of excuses, and reintroduction to DL to save his sorry hide.

2007 needs to be the year that 6.00 ERA-Million Dollar Man gets DUMPED. Sooner, rather than later - or the Reds will be watching the Playoffs on TV yet again.

I hope the Reds aren't afraid to dump Milton and his salary for the good of the team.

The Reds ABSOLUTELY have to dump Milton. It's pretty sad when a mediocre start like today's actually looks good in comparison to his others.
