Lineup, kudos to Griffey

Jerry Narron is running out the same guys vs. Roy Oswalt as last time in slightly different order:

Freel 3b
Hatteberg 1b
Griffey rf
Phillips 2b
Hamilton cf
Dunn lf
Gonzalez ss
Valentin c
Lohse p

Ken Griffey Jr. spent a lot of time with the players from Bluffton baseball team before the game -- posing for pictures, signing autographs. Griffey goes out of his way to do that kind of stuff. He's as good as anyone with Make a Wish kids. Most of Reds made the rounds also, but I think the good Griffey does outside the lines is often overlooked.

Couldn't agree more John. Griff is a class act. Not a speck of trouble in his entire career that anyone can speak of now. It's a shame injuries have derailed his career or we would be talking about him in the same breath as Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and the very best to ever play the game.

p.s. Appreciate your writing and blog, keep up the good work!

Griffey is a breath of fresh air to professional sports! In a profession that has all sorts of characters with character issues, Griffey has never been labled as a problem. I love to hear stories of good will and compassion and I guarantee there are lots of them pertaining to Griffey. It's a shame we don't get to hear more - hopefully that would shut up some of his critics.
