Cueto's night

Johnny Cueto had allowed no runs on two hits over six innings for the Louisville. He struck out four and walked none. Cueto, the 21-year-old right-hander, was making his first start since being promoted from Double-A Chattanooga.

Jay Bruce hit his 5th homer for the Bats.

Do the Reds still plan to send Bruce back to AA?

Kevin Kelly is working on a story on Bruce. Whether he goes back to AA or not is under discussion.

My thought: Why would you?

Cueto will have a lot longer and better career than Homer Bailey will have. He's the real deal not a prentend bonus baby like Baby Homer.

Why not call Cueto up and bat him 4th tomorrow? Or get Mark Mallory to start on Saturday?

After all, the Cincinnati Clowns aren't (apparently) serious anymore about playing professional baseball.

Why not bass Ross leadoff, the pitcher in the 2-hole, and Phillips 9th?

Oh, you mean where a batter hits and who that batter is actually matters?

Cueto here in 2010, and no Castellini or Krivsky in sight, is the best we can hope for.
