Harang notes

This from Rob Butcher:

The last Reds pitcher before Aaron Harang to win at least 12 of his first 15 decisions in a season was John Smiley in 1995 (12-3). The last Reds RHP to do that was Tom Seaver in 1981 (13-2). Seaver was the last Reds pitcher to win at least 13 of his first 16 decisions in a season (14-2 in 1981).

This from a reader:

I attended Harang's last start (prior to Tuesday), a 1-0 win over the Dodgers last Wednesday. I searched all articles the next day for a mention if that was the first 1-0 game in GABP history. So after some research, I found that it wasn't even the first this year. There have been 4 at GABP, with an interesting note that Aaron Harang has started all 4 games.

June 26, 2004 vs Pittsburgh, L 1-0
August 26, 2004 vs St Louis, W 1-0
June 10, 2007 vs Cleveland, W 1-0
August 8, 2007 vs Los Angeles, W 1-0

And yet he still gets no love for the Cy Yound award. That's a real shame.
