Chief Bender auction

If you're into collectables, this is worth checking out:

Everything But the House is pleased to announce that they will be auctioning the estate of Cincinnati Reds and baseball legend, Sheldon “Chief” Bender. The auction includes a wonderful selection of baseball memorabilia as well as the complete contents of his beautiful home in Hamilton, OH.

Chief Bender retired in 2005 after spending 64 years in baseball as a player, manager and executive. He spent the last 39 years of his career as a member of the Reds front office staff in scouting and player development. Under his leadership, the farm system produced many future stars including Johnny Bench, Dave Concepcion, Ken Griffey Sr., Don Gullett, Chris Sabo, and Eric Davis just to name a few.

Highlights of this auction will include a wide range of baseball memorabilia including signed and game used bats and balls, World Series and All Star game team signed balls, ticket stubs, baseball books autographed by such greats as Stan Musial, Johnny Bench and Sparky Anderson, and Sheldon’s “King of Baseball” Louisville Slugger (one of only two, the other on display in the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame).

In order to accommodate the many fans that would like to participate and own a piece of baseball history, this internet only online auction will remain open from Thursday, May 15th through Sunday, May 25th 4PM EST. There will be an opportunity to preview the baseball memorabilia and the complete contents of his estate including antiques, art, pottery, furniture and more at his long time residence in the historic section of Hamilton, OH on Friday, May 23rd from 3PM to 7PM EST. Please visit www.ebthauctions.com for additional sale information, photographs of all available items, and in order to register and bid online now.
