Patient Phillips, the Sopranos, Reds lead 1-0

Brandon Phillips came into tonight's game with a .136 average. But rather than try to swing his way out of the slow start, he walked in each of his first two times up.

Speaking of patience, it was worth the wait for the return of the Sopranos. Last night's episode had you on edge from early on. You just knew the Monopoly game wasn't going to end peacefully. Thought Entourage was strong as well. Those are my Nos. 1 and 2 shows. Got to agree with Lance McAlister, 24 is getting close to Jump the Shark territory. The arm thing from last week was what made me think of that.

Back to baseball, it's 1-0 Reds. Bronson Arroyo hasn't give up a hit through 3.

Why not comment how Freel keeps costing the Reds opportunities. I love his all out style but he fails to understand how to work the count or when to push the issue on the bases. I have watched every game so far and he has messed up in every one of them. It was said the Reds could not win with Lopez at short, well I don't think they can win with Freel in center and leading off.

Has anyone ever wondered if a baseball game is going on when Marty is calling the game? He thinks the game is setup for him to do his act. There is a growing dissatisfaction with good ole Marty and his ego!!!

Freel came into tonight with a .385 on-base percentage and four stolen bases in five attempts. And the Reds were 4-2 in those games.
Tough to blame Freel for anything.

I understand your point on Freel when you look at >385 and four stolen bases but tonight he swung his way out of a leadoff walk by swinging at ball four twice. He has not run the bases well. Just watch him and then decide.

A growing dissatisfaction with Marty? I assume you are just commenting on your own feelings and not speaking on behalf of the majority because he is the ultimate professional. His insight, sincerity, knowledge and lack to bias make him the best sports announcer ever, not just baseball. The only comparison is his son, Thom.

I jumped the shark on 24 as soon as Dancing With the Stars returned. 24 has become a tired cliche of itself.

Besides, Jack Bauer has nothing on these dancing Russian chicks. As Marty would say, "mercy."
