E.Z. it is

Elizardo Ramirez will make tomorrow's start. The roster move to open a spot for him will be made prior to the game.

And tomorrow's game start at 7:05 EDT

It will be interesting to see how he does. He was pretty good until his shoulder started bothering him last year. The night he struck out seven Astros in a row was pretty impressive.

Ah, The Lizard is back again. I thought his arm was still bothering him. I guess he deserves a chance if he is healthy. Can't be any worse than: Lohse, Belisle, Santos, Saarloos, Mays, Kim, Milton, et al.
What ever happened to Bubba and Bong? I know they weren't Wayne's babies but they were of the same caliper.

Why are there posts on this message board talking about Bailey like he is a failure. Look at some of the best pitchers first seasons. Nolan Ryan had a 15.00 era his first season. Also Bailey had a groin strain that may have been affecting his velocity.

I think EZ is definately a candidate for the rotation in 2008. I suspect the front office will try to add one starter for next season (and I think they should). That would put next year's rotation at:

Harang
Arroyo
(starter acquired in FA or via trade)
Bailey
5 spot from one of these: Livingston, Belisle, Ramirez, Dumatrait, Cueto

Bong is pitching in Korea. Bubba is 2-1 with a 2.00 with the AA Reading.

Cheviot Sports Authotity, by the way, is my favorite poster name.

I see the lineup posted tonight, and that is one I would take into next year. If, the Reds can get a couple pitcher in free agentcy or trade Dunn/Conine for some guys, that would be OK too.

I can't believe EZ is starting tonight. We've seen this movie how many times? It always ends the same. Why won't Wayne try someone new, like Cuerto, particular given the fact the Reds are out of contention (except in Castellini and Mckanin's dreams).

EZ couldn't get the job done in the 3rd....just another hole to climb out of. Maybe "Reds" should be renamed?

How about "Gophers" (coming out of holes and giving up Gopher balls) or "Paymetosucks*" (for overly long lucrative contracts the Reds can't escape from when the player sucks) or the "Almosts" as in: "almost" competitive; "almost" held onto that 5-run lead in the 7th or 8th or 9th innings; or "almost" found a 3rd starting pitcher worth spit.

The Cincinnati Gophers
The Cincinnati Paymetosucks*
The Cincinnati Almosts

* Synonym monikers include many things John Fay will not let me write.

Can we get a new movie in here please?
