Bray throws, Ross?

Bill Bray threw 25 pitched to hitters today. He threw all his pitches. Encouraging?

"Definitely, it felt good to throw off the mound to hitters again."

He'll have another session Sunday, upping the number of pitches.

I thought David Ross (back spasms) would be back by now. But Dusty Baker said it will be at three or four days before Ross starts swinging the bat again.

"He's making progress," Baker said. "But it two steps forward, one step back. They're trying to eliminate and alleviate it all together. (Back problems) are tough when you're trying to swing and catch."

I haven't talked to Ross today. He's getting treatment, of course, but this could be an issue.

Even if Ross is OK. Catching should have been addressed in the off season. Adding Scot Bako doesn't qualify as solidifying.

David Ross was a one-year wonder with the Reds. Krivsky is not always objective when it comes to " his guys" (See: giving Arroyo a huge extension after one good half-season).

We NEVER should've traded LaRue. People give him a lot of flack, hitting is NOT a catcher's priority. He was great throwing out runners, he never had a pitching staff like this one (which is saying something, cause this isn't a Cy Young lineup from top to...second even).

LaRue was stuck with Eric Milton, Jared "Knuckle ball" Fernadez, Josias Manzillo and so many other also-rans.

David Ross can throw runners out with the best of them. It's his hitting that concerns me.

I’m starting up a fantasy league for Reds fans. If you’re interested, there’s room for up to 19 more teams. It’s a head-to-head format. Currently, it’s set up as a live online draft taking place on Friday, March 21 at 9 p.m., but you don’t have to be online then to draft as you can set up your pre-draft rankings, which Yahoo! will pick from if you can’t be online for the draft.

Our league is called Rounding Third Headed for Home. In order to register, people need to go to http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/register/joinprivateleague_league_select?.scrumb=

Our league ID# is 177422
Our password is redsbaseball

Jason LaRue hit .148 last year and got paid $ 5.2mil. He's terrible! Hitting might not be the catcher's priority, but he's got to at least be over the Mendoza line!

Larue was a huge waste of money compared to ross/valentine. they got rid of him as a salary dump, and it was the absolute best move, the stats are in the last post.

What happen to Ryan Jorgrnsen,I know the guy tested positive for some type of steroid that was illegal & I think he was cut not much later, but shouldn't he get a 2nd chance like Worthless Mike "CAN'T GET EM OUT"Stanton.

The guy came up & hit some good dingers out of the park(One was a GS),then was demoted. He was young & had potential. The guy should have been given a chance to apologize & redeem himself.

Brendan T:

I was a pretty good catcher 50 some years ago. Before helmets and all of that. I could have signed with the Reds but I also could have become an engineer. I asked myself "self, can you hit .250?" That was the threshold of mediocrity in those days. That curve ball coming at my head made me believe I couldn't, so I became an engineer. A guy who hits .140 shouldn't take his paycheck. A club who signs a .140 hitter deserves what they get.

Cheviot, is Scot Bako Paul Bako's cousin?

I thought the chances were better tha I would see a leprechaun than ever hearing anyone say getting rid of LaRue was a mistake.

Maybe he was thinking of Scott Baio from Happy Days.
