Jon: Any idea if they are going to have sports talk in Sarasota this week? Where will it be hosted?

Will the starters remain the same for each of the spring games? Or will that begin to rotate?

at 12:44 PM Blogger John Fay said...

You missed SportsTalk. It was last week at Findaddy's. Looks like Harang, Arryo, Belisle, Affledt and Baiely are starting for now. Someone asked Dusty the other day if Fogg, Cueto, Volquez, Maloney would get starts and he said he wasn't sure. Right now, they're getting as many innings as the starters.

I sure would like to see Keppinger getting more playing time at SS.. But I guess they know how good he already is. I dont know about Castro and Freel making the trip north with the team..oh well off to work have a nice day

How many innings is Affledt looking to go today? How much more will they be extended this time around?

Is it really Andy Phillips at second??

at 1:32 PM Blogger John Fay said...

Yes. He told Baker he played all thrugh the minors.

He's got an error and couldn't turn a double play on another play so far.

at 1:35 PM Blogger John Fay said...

Phillips made a very nice play in the second.

1:21 anon...yes it is Andy Phillips at second.

Hey John just wondering if from what you have seen is Dusty Baker more fundamental oriented then Jerry Narron during spring training? Also how does LHP Danny Herrera look?

I wonder if the blog pressure is getting to Keppinger. I really hope he has a great year, but so far (one week) is hitting 184, leaving runners on base, has an error and has been picked off base.

at 184, Juan Castro is going North in a hurry as the HITTING shortstop option, even with his bad hose.

Get well soon Juan, get with it Kepp, and keep up the good work Belisle and Coffey (0.00 is a pretty good week). We need you all. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DFA'ing of ANONYMOUS

Get well soon Juan? You mean Sir A-Gone of Skyline?

Kepp will come around. Rosales deserves everyday looks this spring. He's far better than Castro.

reganspad you dont have to belittle julie..shes a nice gal and enjoys this blog.very immature

at least Keppinger is playing. Gonzalez is beginning to look like ken griffey jr..absent

at 2:16 PM Blogger reaganspad said...

Dunn... "instead, he goes the other way, down the 3rd base line where there was a huge hole and Hopper scores easily." Thanks CTR

This approach (using LF) is worth about 30 points in Dunn's BA and about 30 additional RBI's. Has 2 today off 2 singles

jack as usual, I have no idea what you are talking about... I have Never said anything about Julie. You are blog noise.

Kepp is 0-2 today with a DP. Pick it up Kepp

Anon 2:06
I want Juan Castro's arm to be 100 % on opening day...that is the get well soon wish.

With AGon down, we need health at short: Juan's arm and Kepp's bat

at 2:22 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

You can't be serious about wanting Castro on the roster.

at 2:23 PM Blogger Jack in Blue Ash said...

reaganspad.. most of us try to be positive about this team,,why dont you take your negative attitude elsewhere

at 2:28 PM Blogger reaganspad said...

jack, you are blog noise. Negative blog noise

Anon 2:22 have you ever watched Castro play Short?

there is a lot more to playing the position than hitting a buck fiddy

at 2:32 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

reanspad. I can't tell if your being serious or not... I have watched him play short and hes nothing special... and hitting "buck fiddy" is a pretty big deal. Especially when you have an OBP machine at the positon and Janish and Rosales who play respectable d and seem to be hitting.

at 2:33 PM Blogger Jack in Blue Ash said...

castro is a marginal over the hill utility player..dont you follow baseball reagan?

at 2:41 PM Blogger jdeezman said...

Calling Gonzo "a marginal over the hill utility player" when the baseball world has said he is one of the top 3 defensive SS in the game shows what little baseball knowledge you have.

Of course, with your "vast knowledge due to "going to 40 games a year", it's remarkable that the Reds haven't picked you up for a scouting job.

But then again, all of the urinals have been scouted out at GABP.

Careful there Jack, your obvious overwhelming manlove for Keppinger has addled your judgement and is bound to get Nurse Julie jealous!

LOL! Negative blog noise indeed reaganspad... good call!

at 2:45 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

Its not manlove, its candle lit dinner soul kissing true love. And I was talking about Castro not Gonzo, unless you think Castro is a top 3 defensive shortstop.

at 2:51 PM Blogger reaganspad said...

Nice outting for Affeldt, and a good day for Dunner.

Thanks jdeezman. They (the jack's/noise) were referring to Castro being over the hill. Me, I want the best we got at short, whoever WINS the job.

To bad they can't just cheer for the Reds and boo the Cubs. hence the noise

at 2:54 PM Blogger jdeezman said...

My bad, it was Castro...

no matter, Jack still is negative noise and has serious manlove for Kepp.

Fielding the best team is the ONLY thing a real Reds fan should want.

Guess that means that some aren't really Reds fans huh?

Im not Jack from blue ash. And from now on you shall call me the Crushinator. And JD, again, not manlove, mother and newborn baby love. Love is a powerful emotion, and using silly monacres like manlove does not distance yourself from the emotion. Meditate on that for a little while

deezman u have not been to a reds game since the early 80s quit pretending to be a fan

at 3:05 PM Blogger Rick Broering said...

Is that top 3 ranking of Gonzalez only for when he's not making errors?

at 3:09 PM Anonymous Anonymous said...

I denfinetly think hes overrated defensively, but he does hit for some power. I think there might be a debate between Kepp and Gonzo if they were both healthy, but its just silly thinking Castro should even sniff the field.

at 3:11 PM Blogger Jack in Blue Ash said...

crush deezman has not been to a reds game in 24 years and he lives 1200 miles away..reds baseball he dont know..dont pay attention to her

Figured it out Julie really is CSA who really is Jack who is really mentally challenged. Want Proof? He thinks no one knows reds baseball if they don't go to single game

Sorry Jack but going to the game drinking till you drool all over yourself does not make you an expert. You are exactly the kind of guy/girl that gives fans a bad name. And don't come back with your "Wah...someone was negative towards me and I am never negative."

Your post/argument is like a clogged toilet...your both full of it!

at 4:36 PM Blogger Jack in Blue Ash said...

i find it sad that people that live hundreds of miles away and that have not been to games in a dozen years are jealous and vindictive to those that have the opportunity to see games. But I wont let that bother me....thats your problem .I am blessed to be able to take games in with Jack and others..sit at home and watch us on TV.
